Each year, some of our council’s and community’s top leaders are honored with special service awards. We are honored to recognize this year’s class of outstanding volunteers on:

Nominate a volunteer

NOMINATION EXTENSION: Nominations for these awards are due in our council office by January 10.

All nominations can be dropped off at or mailed to: Fickett Center, 12500 N. IH-35 Austin, TX 78753 or emailed to Ron Settele at ron.settele@scouting.org.

Award presentations will be made at our council awards reception, typically in March. Our council solicits nominations for the following council-level recognition awards:

Silver Beaver Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. The Silver Beaver recognizes adult volunteers for exceptional service to Scouting at the council level.

Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. This national-level award is presented to individual adult volunteers and organizations that provide exceptional service to rural and urban at-risk youth.

¡Scouting … Vale la Pena! Service Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. This award is made to individual adult volunteers who provide exceptional service to Hispanic youth.

Asian-American Spirit of Service Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. This award is to recognize outstanding services by an adult individual or an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for Asian American youth.

William H. Spurgeon III Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. This award is made to individual adult volunteers and organizations who provide exceptional service to the Exploring program.

Venturing Leadership Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. This award is made to a limited number of youth and leaders who provide exceptional service to the Venturing program.

Sea Scout Leadership Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. The Sea Scout Leadership Award is presented by councils, areas, regions, and the BSA National Council to Sea Scouts and Sea Scouters who have made exceptional contributions to Sea Scouting and who exemplify the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Torch of Gold Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. This award recognizes individuals who have provided outstanding service in the area of Scouts with special needs. It is presented to both youth and adult members.

Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. This award is presented to teachers, educational support staff and school administrators who instill Scouting values in their students. It recognizes a person’s work for students in his or her professional role — not for what the person does directly for Scouting.

Exploring Leadership Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. This is a distinguished award for Explorers and adult volunteer leaders who have given exceptional leadership in Exploring programs.

Duty to God Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. This is an award recognizing registered Scouters who have demonstrated an exemplary history of transformational leadership in supporting and promoting the spiritual foundation of Scouting at the local council level.

Adult Distinguished Conservation Service Award
CLICK HERE for a nomination form. This is an award for adult volunteers who have devoted a minimum of three years at the unit, district, or council level encouraging and educating Scouts about natural resource conservation and environmental improvement.
