Scholarships for all Scouts
Britt Medford High Adventure Scholarship
The scholarship honors the late Scouter Britt Medford, an Eagle Scout who enjoyed the outdoors as a youth and later as an adult leader on his son’s high adventure treks to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and Northern Tier Wilderness Canoe Base in Minnesota/Manitoba/Ontario. Scouts from the Capitol Area Council may apply for this scholarship to receive 75% of the cost of attending either Philmont or Northern Tier. CLICK HERE to apply.

Scholarships for Eagle Scouts
Lockhart Eagle Scout Scholarships
NOTE: only for Scouts who earned the rank of Eagle in Capitol Area Council
The scholarships are made possible by a generous gift by Byron Lockhart. Mr. Lockhart was born in 1917. He grew up in Waco, Texas where he would earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Later, he attended Baylor University, earning an undergraduate and law degree. After working for the F.B.I. for six years, Mr. Lockhart began a successful career in Austin as an attorney. The lessons he learned as an Eagle Scout were so meaningful to him that he donated funds for Eagle Scouts to pursue a post-secondary education.
